The University of Sint Eustatius, School of Medicine (USESOM) represents a dynamic collaboration between a growing cadre of veteran medical educators richly experienced in mentoring U.S. and international medical students throughout all phases of education and clinical training. We share the precept that the time has come for the world medical community to broaden its viewpoint beyond state and national borders to embrace a more inclusive, global perspective on teaching and healthcare delivery.
USESOM was founded by experienced and highly regarded medical school educators and administrators committed to educating future physicians in a student-centered physician-driven learning environment – one that promotes academic excellence with personal and professional integrity at an affordable cost.
USESOM is dedicated to providing a quality medical education towards the Doctor of Medicine degree. Paralleling the United States’ model with a commitment to fundamentals, the University seeks to develop our students in other meaningfully and differentiated ways. The Four Pillars and Two Guideposts for the Healing Professions™ are a framework for our curriculum in line with advances made by leading schools of medicine around the world. We believe that these educational pillars provide a unique and valuable opportunity for our students to be fully prepared for the practice of medicine in today’s world.
• The Four Pillars
Integrative Collaborative Care

Technological Innovation in Healthcare
• The Two Guideposts
